Description

The charming "Edelweiss" apartment building was built around 1888 and looks back on a long history. The building was used as a hotel/pension until 1983, when it underwent extensive renovation and conversion. Since then, the house has been used as a vacation home with several apartments and combines historical architecture with modern living comfort. In recent years, renovation work has been carried out continuously in order to maintain the high standard of living. For example, the shutters and window panes were replaced, and in 2018 the west side of the roof was newly insulated and the façade renovated. Most recently, the laundry room and cellar were renovated in 2022/23. The apartment for sale is currently unoccupied and can also be purchased and used as a vacation home. The kitchen, the bathroom and the entire interior fittings date from the original renovation year and offer a solid and well-kept living quality. A particular highlight is the spacious terrace (approx. 16 m²) for exclusive use. It faces south and east and offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Alps, including the majestic Mönch and Jungfrau peaks. A private cellar compartment provides additional storage space. A ski and bicycle room as well as a laundry room are available for communal use. There is also a covered parking space behind the building (plus CHF 15,000.00, not included in the purchase price). This apartment offers an ideal combination of historical charm, natural recreation and modern living comfort - perfect for owner-occupiers or investors

Situation

The property is located on the southern slope of Beatenberg, sunlit from morning to night with a beautiful view of the lake and the mountains. The bus stop is in the immediate vicinity. The funicular (Beatenbucht/Beatenberg) and the cable car to the Niederhorn can be reached in a few minutes.

The "longest village in Europe" has no actual village center, but most of the residents live in the middle of nature. Beatenberg is an attractive, traditional community, embedded in an extraordinarily beautiful and diverse mountain and lake landscape in the Bernese Oberland with 1199 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2020). Beatenberg has a summer and winter offer with tennis, swimming, sauna, mini golf, hiking (also in winter), climbing, biking, paragliding, skiing, tobogganing and ice skating. In addition, the Niederhornbahn leads on the one hand to Lake Thun, where various sports activities or boat trips are possible, and on the other hand to the Niederhorn with a mountain restaurant. You can go shopping in Beatenberg in the middle of the village. The center of Beatenberg with various shops is in the middle of the village (Spirenwald part of the village). Beatenberg has an interesting school system. The offer is supplemented by specialized private school services.
