Description

Today's apartment building "Edelweiss" was built around 1888. It was used as a hotel/guesthouse until 1983, after which the house was completely renovated and rebuilt and has since been used as a house with holiday apartments. In recent years, the house has been continuously renovated. The shutters and the window panes were renewed and most recently in 2018 the roof (west side) was newly insulated and the facade renovated. The apartment is rented to a long-term tenant. Nevertheless, the apartment can be bought and used as a holiday home. The kitchen, bathroom and the interior of the apartment are from the renovation year. The apartment has a large terrace (approx. 16 m2) for private use. From the terrace, which faces south and east, there is a wonderful view of the Alps with Mönch and Jungfrau. The apartment has a cellar and you can use the ski/bicycle room and the general laundry room. In addition, the apartment has a covered parking space (plus CHF 20,000.00) behind the house.

Situation

The property is located on the southern slope of Beatenberg, sunlit from morning to night with a beautiful view of the lake and the mountains. The bus stop is in the immediate vicinity. The funicular (Beatenbucht/Beatenberg) and the cable car to the Niederhorn can be reached in a few minutes.

Municipality

The "longest village in Europe" has no actual village center, but most of the residents live in the middle of nature. Beatenberg is an attractive, traditional community, embedded in an extraordinarily beautiful and diverse mountain and lake landscape in the Bernese Oberland with 1199 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2020). Beatenberg has a summer and winter offer with tennis, swimming, sauna, mini golf, hiking (also in winter), climbing, biking, paragliding, skiing, tobogganing and ice skating. In addition, the Niederhornbahn leads on the one hand to Lake Thun, where various sports activities or boat trips are possible, and on the other hand to the Niederhorn with a mountain restaurant. You can go shopping in Beatenberg in the middle of the village. The center of Beatenberg with various shops is in the middle of the village (Spirenwald part of the village). Beatenberg has an interesting school system. The offer is supplemented by specialized private school services. In addition, nearby Interlaken has a complete range of schools with vocational schools up to high school.
